how many people do you think were pissed they had to hire people based on this?
Do you think the people that support these practices will really stop doing it?

You guys are acting like every protected group is going to fired, deported and kick out of their house this week.

I find it funny as hell that Target even made a fucking statement. They could have just shut up and said nothing. Now they look like idiots.
Who was forced to hire people based on this?
Did i say someone was forced? Let me look. I didn't find one. Could you find it for me? I might have said it. However, in case I didn't say, it is interesting you of all people are putting words in my mouth. You get a bit testy when that happens to you.
It's the first line of your previous post. I'll bow out - you know nothing about corporate hiring, promotion processes or cultural elements, but you are making claims based on what you assume them to be.

Good luck.

I did not say anyone was forced. I asked how many people were pissed they had to follow or hire people on this policy? My guess is not many.

You are trying to hard to make something out what I said. Nice try.

Quit being so stupid. Dei doesn’t remove merit. Trump does however.
Wrong.
absolutely base it on merit. Do you?
There are tons of parents who bribe schools officials to accept fake SAT scores, create fake sports profiles and get their kids into a school they wouldn't or couldn't qualify for.
How is that merit based?
USC, Yale, Stanford, Harvard and others have all have been involved in scandal's. Ever seen Suits?

DEI doesn't mean unqualified. But then again, just look at what's happening in DC.

Do all of trump's picks have "merit?" (Rhetorical) I know you won't answer unless it's something Gif related.
Yes, I do believe it should be based on merit.

You know, they way it was intended and equitable for all parties regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.

If your claims are true (i.e. bribery, fake SAT scores, etc.) then there should be some internal oversight taken by these institutions where they would be penalized if these events for enrollment take place.

Do you have any evidence that supports your claims?
My shit don’t stink.

Yep.

They are filling their DEI quota at the expense of other students, regardless or merit.
Well, there's that. And then add in how much money the DoD and corporations have invested in it and it's no wonder why many (not all) programs are not effective and why organizations are letting it go. Its hard enough to hire qualified candidates as it is.
Follow the money.

Most of us do, but trump doesn't care what we want.
Is trump causing your company to change their hiring process?
I'm retired, so not sure. The Fed will not change. They have a huge number of diversity hires. But trump needs them, so they don't care what he does.

You can find it all over the net.

The FBI says the parents paid a college counseling and test prep business in Newport Beach, Calif., called “The Key,” which bribed college coaches and administrators and organized a scheme to help students cheat on college entrance exams, including the ACT and SAT.

In what is being called the largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted, wealthy parents, Hollywood actresses, coaches and college prep executives have been accused of carrying out a nationwide fraud to get students into prestigious universities, according to a federal indictment.

The scheme had two major pieces. In the first part, parents allegedly paid a college prep organization to take the test on behalf of students or to correct their answers. Second, the organization allegedly bribed college coaches to help admit the students into college as recruited athletes, regardless of their abilities, prosecutors said.

Federal court documents also allege that some defendants created fake athletic profiles for students to make them appear to be successful athletes.

Again, all over the net. Google is a hell of a tool.

In your example, the FBI investigated those parties who engaged in these acts, and those parties that were found guilty were prosecuted.

In my opinion, the institutions should be mandated to have oversight with enrollment, and if they do not comply, they will be investigated and if found guilty of accepting bribes, domestic or foreign, they will be prosecuted, convicted and its federal aid will be withheld.

Make sense?

The college and the parents should both be held accountable.

That's where oversight comes in.

DEI is dead. This ridiculous approach was misguided at best.

However, I still think true affirmative action should exist. IF two candidates for admission or hiring present themselves with roughly equivalent credentials, then other objectives can be considered including just moving favored minorities ahead.

The problem with DEI and the modern utilization of race as THE primary factor in admissions or hiring is that they selecting favored minority candidates with significantly lower credentials than white or Asian candidates. They are passing over kids for medical school admission who have 38 MCAT scores to take African American's with 24.

The next steps are we need to go back to the drawing board and design education that will work for these minorities. It will take a lot of time because the fundamental community involvement is not present. Spending more money has not worked (a cursory examination of the money spent in urban schools reveals this fallacy). DEI and race quotas have not worked.

im pretty sure 4 years ago similar questions were being asked about joes picks for positions.

Im pretty sure some people here were asking if these people were qualified.
Im pretty sure another group of people were asking what are the qualifications.

4 years later they same people are having the same conversation...and we have the same answers....

Maybe this is just the wedge you needed to get one of the Woodbury locations to close in order to get the economy moving again. I'm rooting for you.

What exactly are Pete Hagseth’s qualifications for being Sec of Defense?

Pete Hegseth's qualifications to be Secretary of Defense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pete Buttigieg's qualifications to be Secretary of Transportation. If Buttigieg got Transportaion in the Biden Administration you would think the mediocre mayor of Indiana's 3rd largest city should ahve received an even more important position.
You didn’t answer the question.
Well, I did. Pete Hegseth is a combat veteran who has worked in organizations that help other veterans so he is closely involved with the issues facing the modern soldier. He is highly educated and a dynamic person who will shake up the dead beats motherfuckers in the Pentagon for sure.

What was Pete Buttigieg's qualification for being a national figure in Democratic politics? The answer is three letters long: gay. Not that there is anything wrong with it but Pete Buttigieg was a mediocre mayor of the 4th largest city in Indiana, population 103,000. Without any credentials and that mediocre record he becomes the heart throb of the Democratic party, no questions asked. Pete was one of the DEI candidates for their nomination which included other lightweights like Kamala Harris and Corey Booker. Then after he could not achieve the nomination he was selected as the Secretary of Transportation, and his record demonstrates the absolute truth that he was not qualified for the job. (The truthful joke is how do you know the Transportation Secretary is not doing a good job? You know who the transportation secretary is.)

Do you notice the difference between Buttigieg and the nomination and confirmation of Scott Bessent? While Secretary Bessent is gay there is no need to bring this out in any manner. He isn't a DEI hire. He is fully qualified and needs no racial/gender/orientation quota to be selected. 29 Democrats voted against his confirmation, obviously they are homophobic. Isn't that how the woke game is played?

You should know better to want answers to stupid questions.
