LOL!!! I don't think you are correct. Mississippi's reading scores were 219, with 65% at or above basic. Minnesota? 214. With 61% at or above basic.
Several states led by Mississippi switched to the phonetics based reading approach. Mississippi, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Their scores are all in the top levels after being submerged by teh teacher fad.
When you look at these scores and the demographics of the state, the results are very impressive and there is no argument.
