You know what? Fuck D lo.

Saw his highlight reel and it was poopshit.

Plus no defense.

In one year, wiggins will be way easier to trade and we'll be in a PG heavy draft with 27 teams already set at point. WE DONT EVEN HAVE TO TANK TO LAND A BADASS PG.

Kat will have 3 years left, let em bitch.

I flip and flop on DLO.

I'd rather we keep everything, sign fricken Rubio for nothing and let this play out over the next two seasons. Let contracts expire or trade them, see if Wiggins with no excuses is crap or at least an average nba player. See where Culver is at. Limit Bob's minute. Find a PG next season in the draft or by trade.

Let’s see Lakers, LeBron, Davis and Kuzma or Wolves, KAT and gutted roster needed to pay him.

Time to get real here, what is Rosas’s “Plan B”, what else does he have up his sleeve?

I don't know that Wiggins will be way easier to trade until maybe 2021. But, what we don't know yet is how many teams panic when guys come off the board fairly fast and they're sitting with a crap ton of cap space (see my list on the last page).

Rubio ain't coming. The Windhorst, Zach Lowe, other ESPN talking heads all seem to think it's Indiana.

Cannot get over the Rubio fascination. He was not a good NBA player overall. In the 1990s he might have been an all-star but the game isn't suited for his game. I repeat myself a lot but the fact that he never improved his shooting is one of the biggest Wolves disappointments of all.

My point was not Rubio, the point was I'd be happy with any cheap stop gap until we get a long term PG. Thought that was obvious but apparently not.

My guess is if no Russell, it's Tyus and Teague for another year.

Wiggins will be 20% easier to trade (4vs 5 years) if he stays the same. He can only get better and he's got better guys to train him and he knows he hasn't been shit lately.

The problem with this "stop gap" mentality is it has very little future value. Even if the PG of the future is from next year's draft or some other future acquisition, the Wolves need to spend focus on playing PGs that can make a future contribution to depth. Putting Rubio or Teague or some other "stop gap" hurts the team going forward even if it means a handful more wins because of their experience.

I can see signing Ty Jones to a reasonable extension depending on the market (I think he is going to get double that though) and just starting him as the starter all season with a rookie/young backup and maybe even a 3rd young PG that you plug in too. Maybe you hit on one. Maybe if your scouting and development is very good, one of those young guys breaks out and is the PG of the future.

The problem is, playing the stop gap game means you will never, ever, find out.

One of the biggest fallacies about Andrew Wiggins being a bad player and taking bad shots is the fact that in the NBA not every shot your offense generates is going to be a good shot. The question then becomes, when your offense has to take a shot, who do you want taking it. Much of Wiggins' inefficiency is caused by the inefficiency of the Wolves offense. He is getting the vast majority of the bad shots and the fact is, of the Wolves, he is the one I want taking them. Someone has to.

mlhouse is Wiggins' brother. That's the only logical explanation for that level of ball washing.

Nope. Mitchell is not my father.

Ball washing or not, this is the reality of the Wolves. We have Wiggins and Towns. I will go with the claim that a guy who as a 21 year old wing player averaged 23.6 points per game is a pretty good player with lots of potential. You develop that game correctly with another future cog in Towns, the right offense and supporting players, you are going to have some player. The Wolves....nope.

The Nets are interested. The issue isn't necessarily Russell, but they want two tier one free agents instead.

The Nets are very interested in bringing Russell back IF they can't sign a tier one free agent instead.

I think that sums up my feelings as well. I won't be upset if they don't get him. I believe it will cost too much to have him on the roster. I believe Rosas has something else in the works. Garland doesn't seem like a fit in Cleveland and Culver is not a great fit here. Could something still be in the works? I just get the feeling Culver will never play a game for the Twolves. Just a hunch.

It’s likely that we don’t get Russell. We knew this well before the Lakers rumor.

Nevertheless, this new breed of anti-Rosas froobs is gonna FREAK OUT if and when we don’t acquire Russell.

This complaining is based on nothing but 11 + Saric for Culver, which is a GREAT TRADE eight days a week.

There is no counter to be made vs a guy saying Wiggins takes bad shots because someone has to.

NO. No one has to take midrange pull up fade-away with 13 left on the shot clock. Ever.

If someone is going to pretend like that’s not real then there’s no argument to be had, they aren’t watching the games or they’re blinded by their love for a player.
