Jimmy Snuggerud became the third Gophers men's hockey player to have 20 goals in each of his first three seasons. He joins John Mayasich and Dick Dougherty, who both accomplished the feat in the 1950s.

Gophers picked it up after getting their ass handed to them in the 1st. That was good to see them rebound.

I heard that last night and was surprised there are now only 3. With the long history of the program I'd have thought there would be several, but obviously not.

I decided to check and only 15 players have scored 20 or more their F year. Of those:

John Sheridan and Antonovich only played 1 year, N. Broten went to the Olympics, A Broten, Darby Hendrickson, Cooley and Vanek only played 2 years, Reggie Berg scored 20 every year but his sophomore year, Trent Klatt went 22, 16, 30, G Money, Jay Barriball, Jay Kates, and Spehar couldn't keep it going,

The Gophers played well 4/6 periods not including OT/SO. How they are so pad in the SO is perplexing.

I have seen this from a few teams this year. Play lights out in the 1st and then they are done.
BC vs BU in the Beanpot is a good example. BC just ran around the rink at will in the 1st. Then BU woke up.

The sioux with a split in Denver. Still not much to see from the team in green. They made a comment on the National broadcast Friday night about how many players have scored for the sioux. Big fucking deal.
They need to score more!

Not an overly exciting game but our Rodents do what they had to do and beat the Buckeyes 4-1 in a game closer than the score would indicate.

Damn, Rodents can't sweep Penn State and finish the Big Ten in 2nd place due to MSU winnin the tie braker. Need a solid Big Ten tourney to have a good shot at a top seed come NCAA time.....
