Re: Wolves in on D'Angelo Russell?

Towns was with Russell.. He had to have talked to him.. Why would he post that to his IG without some kind of commitment from DLO... This is all just so odd.

That part is the biggest mystery about this to me. I mean, he has to know that when Klay comes back he isn't starting. Right?OliverMiller wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:41 pm
But again, Marc Stein is claiming that the Warriors will trade him at some point. So why pick a place that you know will trade you?

Dlo could stay at the 2 and they move Klay to SF because no more iggy or KD at the position.jffl_commish wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:43 pmThat part is the biggest mystery about this to me. That's hideous. I'm not convinced he can even be effective at the 2 with Klay out.UnFadeable21 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:54 pmDlo could stay at the 2 and they move Klay to SF because no more iggy or KD at the position.jffl_commish wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:43 pmThat part is the biggest mystery about this to me. That was a joke btw.DonaldDouchebag wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:25 pmAccording to one genius WC poster it's the only way they'll be able to sell tickets coming off an NBA championship.
I finally figured out why the Wolves were included in the sign and trade, and why Golden St. needed a 3rd party to facilitate the trade.OliverMiller wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:41 pmBut again, Marc Stein is claiming that the Warriors will trade him at some point. I doubt that was the difference.
A chance to get a young pg that is supposedly super close with your superstar is worth that cost.
Dlo is 6’5. He play shooting guard just fine. He did it plenty last year with the Nets when Napier or Dinwiddle came in and played point.RubeTube wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:00 pmThat's hideous. Let's may a guy who has only proven himself for one year and move him to the 2. BRILLIANT!
DLo was close to playing himself out of the league and now he switches position?! I guess he got his money so it doesn't really matter. They were also talking he has a shoe deal with Nike that benefited him playing in a bigger market.
I hope he is as atrocious there as he's been before last year and GS can't move him via Woggins 2.0.
There are currently only two teams that could sign Russell to a deal and that is with GS doing some tricky maneuvering to sign him. My guess is the Timberwolves needed more time to find acceptable deals to clear space, and he decided he couldn't wait that long and risk getting stuck with approximately $10 mil a year offers and picking between them - if Wolves couldn't figure out a way to make cap space.OliverMiller wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:41 pmBut again, Marc Stein is claiming that the Warriors will trade him at some point. The big difference is DLo is a ball dominant pick and roll player. Golden State runs a motion offense. Will they change to fit Russell or will Russell be required to move more off the ball? It will be interesting.D_H wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:46 pmjffl_commish wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:43 pmThat part is the biggest mystery about this to me. All 3 can be on the floor together, I don't see why they couldn't. However , Russell is an atrocious defensive player. Klay and Draymond would have to play all the defense on that team!!! I would assume they're getting a defensive-minded big sometime that can protect the rim.
So Rosas turned the Wolves into GSW’s cuckold.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:03 pmI finally figured out why the Wolves were included in the sign and trade, and why Golden St. needed a 3rd party to facilitate the trade.OliverMiller wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:41 pmBut again, Marc Stein is claiming that the Warriors will trade him at some point. By doing a sign and trade Golden St. was "hard capped" meanign they could not go above the Apron in any transaction. So, they needed a 3rd Party to facilitate the trade by absorbing all of the excess filler contracts coming back to them from Brooklyn. Minnesota had a TPE that a. could absorb the players and b. wasn't going to be used so the Warriors paid us cash to help them make the deal.
I feel like Golden State ended up wearing a 27 million dollar ball gag and they can enjoy that for the next 4 years.jodaman01 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 8:10 amSo Rosas turned the Wolves into GSW’s cuckold.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:03 pmI finally figured out why the Wolves were included in the sign and trade, and why Golden St. needed a 3rd party to facilitate the trade.OliverMiller wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:41 pm

He wanted DLo so bad but knew he didn’t have the juice needed for DLo so he decided to help and watch while GSW consummated the deal with DLo right in front of him.

DLo dominated GSW, Rosas/Wolves got stuck with clean up duty/dootie.irishman89 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 8:33 amI feel like Golden State ended up wearing a 27 million dollar ball gag and they can enjoy that for the next 4 years.jodaman01 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 8:10 amSo Rosas turned the Wolves into GSW’s cuckold.mlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:03 pm

Isn't it that technically they can still just alter the original trades? Then those lock in the 6th followed by the 3 month waiting period?
Dec 15th once the deal is official. Until it's official, you could potentially just add another team to the deal somehow but what's Golden State taking back from MN besides stuff we don't want to give up?
couldn't we send Wiggins + the expirings for Russell? Before anyone says "why would GS want Russell" I will pre-emptively state here "why would they want Russell in the first place?" It's clear nobody knows at this point what GS is thinking or what they value, so who knows if they could be interested in Wiggins.
Marc Stein was the one who went on the Dan Patrick show and said they'll trade him eventually, he's an asset. Stein was also the one feeding the info about Russell meeting with Minnesota on Sunday. Perhaps he's getting fed some stuff from the MN side...shuttlesworth wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 9:37 am Technically D-Lo is still on the Nets because he can't be officially traded to GSW until July 6th. So the Warriors can "trade" him again before then in that they could restructure his trade from the Nets as a three-team deal. But that's very unlikely to happen: it would require D-Lo himself changing his mind about joining the Warriors: because he hasn't yet signed there, he effectively has veto power over any "trade" the Warriors want to do.
I wouldn't 100% rule it out, because over the past few days there have been many rumors that the Warriors will trade D-Lo at the first available opportunity, and that they just signed him to get an asset for Durant. And maybe D-Lo will realize that he's essentially signing up to play for the Warriors for 3 months to a year and then some other team over which he has no control for the remainder of his contract. Maybe he'll decide that he'd rather play for MN or the Lakers, where he knows he has a long-term role. And again, because he hasn't officially signed yet, he has time to change his mind. But that's what it would take.
Wiggins makes the same money as Russell next year now. Not sure what type of deal you're laying out..Oriole81 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 9:39 amcouldn't we send Wiggins + the expirings for Russell? Yeah, but they're saying the sign and trade doesn't take effect until July 6th.
