Russell hasn’t really gone out of his way to talk about how excited he is to be headed to GS, and the pundits seem to still be on the angle that Russell is not long for GS.

So if the deal is able to be amended (the big if that nobody can seem to confirm is possible or not) then the thought COULD be that Russell gets rerouted here and we would send acceptable compensation to GS. So our question with if something could happen before the 6th is not about Russell backing out entirely but instead just about amending our two ends of it.

It’s a reasonable question.
Then Golden St. and Brooklyn would have to renege on their sign and trade involving Russell and Durant. Maybe these reports are wrong. Maybe it was just a stall so that Minnesota could find a way to clear up cap space. But, the second the sign and trade is official then Russell cannot be traded until 12/15.

Based on the information available on what is a 3 team sign and trade, with Minnesota facilitating the deal because Golden St is hard capped and cannot go over the Apron in a transaction, it is doubtful that this will not become official.

He can't be. This is probably our best opportunity to get Pau Gas-oil, ever. He is just sitting there. We can't ever give up hope. He must not be replaced!

i'm expecting to see him in a suit on the sidelines in a couple years as our "bigs" coach.

And you say right in there “once it becomes official,” but it’s ovviously unclear at what point it becomes official and unable to be amended, especially if all parties actually want to amend it. Like my gut tells me that Russell would prefer to play here and that GS would prefer to have pieces that fit them better, so we’re just curious if it’s even possible.

I think it is so close to 100% done that it is pointless to consider something else.

i'm late to the table here so smack me in the head if this has already been brought up 17 times. but...

gorgui dieng $16M + jeff teague $19M = $35M
d'angelo russell $27.3M + shaun livingston $7.7M = $35M

i know. seems very lopsided talent-wise to our advantage. BUT russell is going to be close to $30M for the next four years - whereas teague's $19M comes off the books next year and dieng's $16M the year after. teague backs up curry for a year - dieng takes some minutes that bell, boogie and bogut had. to be tied to russell for 4 years when he doesn't fit their offensive style and brings nothing on D?

Then why sign Russell???? They could have just let Durant walk and not signed a replacement.

How many firsts are you having us add to that trade to get GSW to even pick up the phone 4 or 5?

honestly, i don't know. but i don't think they're infallible. could been grabbing at straws to land another big name after durant up and left. but to the point, russell is just not the right kind of player for their team. it's a bad match.

From GS perspective, what if they did just want to acquire an asset for Durant and trade it mid-season. What if Russell's knee explodes in November? No chance to move 117 million dollar contract. Obviously their trainers are suspect.....

good point. i think that GSW would be better served breaking that money up into smaller chunks on shorter term contracts. plus, as i've pointed out - both players, teague and dieng, would actually find PT on their team this year considering the probable loss of livingston, cook, bell, cousins and bogut.

I don't think you understand what is going on. Unless you believe that Russell and Durant will not sign on 7/6, everything you are stating is meaningless dribble.

You understand this, right?
You're an idiot mlhouse. Plain and simple. May be some of the poorest reading comprehension on the site! Congrats.
Buddy boy I think your statements are pure projection. You are making up stuff like "has the sign and trade been signed". Doesnt matter. Unless you think it will not be signed between Brooklyn and GSW, then it really doesn't change much. In the 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% chance the Nets and Warriors complete the trade, Russell cannot be traded until 12.15.2019. Period. End of story.
WE ALL KNOW THAT HE CAN'T BE TRADED UNTIL 12.15.19 AFTER HE SIGNS THE CONTRACT MLHOUSE! THAT'S NOT THE POINT!

My god you are like talking to a wall. No one ever said anything about odds it will be signed. You are arguing a point that nobody made. Fact is the contract isn't signed and can be modified up until Saturday. No one is saying it will, just that it can. Do you understand that? Oh yeah, you do as you stated the 99.99999% thing so stfu and admit you're a dolt already.

I think you might have some mental issues.

No commentary on his life, sounds like he does great things off the court. I'm tired of watching him on the court.

Yeah, I don't believe Doogie.
Doogie is great at giving you yesterday's news tomorrow, but I could see how this fits what we know.

Wolves find out they don't have a sucker to take their salary dump, DLo says "if you don't have an alternative to clear space I'm taking the Warriors deal because there's a deadline and i dont want be stuck with the fucking Knicks."
Doogie nailed the Jake Layman news! #dealwithit
