The Hornets felt like they were close to a full rebuild and making a run in the East....And they still might be close with Coby White extending.
I really think Ant wanted this to happen and it couldn't have been done without trading Randle.
But but I thought it was Broke Ass Arod and Lore pinching pennies by trading Randle.
That NEVER came from me. I knew Connelly was going to be aggressive this offseason....Obviously didn't know what exactly that would look like.
Sorry Caleb, didn’t mean to come across as you saying it. Rather a few on here that were going after ownership after the trade

Unless DD is added to the original deal, I don't think Green can be combined with another player in a separate trade once we acquire him.
Well as long as we have room, we can absorb a larger contract coming in then going out.
Does anybody have info on what our payroll looks like post trade?
We are right back where we started. In the first apron, just below the 2nd. I don't think we can absorb a larger contract.
I’m sure more moves are coming. At this rate wouldn’t be surprised to see Gobert moved.

Connelly needs to find a way to turn Green into a PF. Someone make a list of possible options via trade for guys making what Green makes. There was a tweet mentioning guys like PJ Washington or Nikola Jović as possible options. Basically guys on similar, but longer contracts their current team might want to trade in a salary dump for an expiring.
yes, the devil's in the details. that's Tim's job and I think he'll get a piece to put into the puzzle. but on the big picture front, it's all looking fine to me. that core just got better, and I think most everyone can see an extended time frame on the window now. not expecting to see any do something or Ant will want to leave posts for awhile.

I think you can also add in Donte's expiring for that, and go for a $25M or so guy.

I was assuming that since we just reopened the Randle trade to incorporate the new moving pieces, and considering that trade still hasn't been finalized yet, that we could still reroute Green and also add in Donte.
That correct?

there's positive noise and negative noise with these outlets. it doesn't matter because they're never held accountable for their takes. it's just on to the next story.

That is correct. Once we acquire Green, THEN we cannot trade him with another player in a separate trade. He would need to be traded on his own.

By all accounts Ant wants to play off the ball more.... so this is a move to appease that, quite a bit. I hate trading Naz but I said the 33 unprotected + Randle for Kyrie... 33 unprotected + Naz gets you a better point guard.

Shocked Naz was traded. Reserving judgment until I see what other moves Tim C makes and I see the product on the court. But I got to thinking about realistic options available.
Jotted down some names and asked myself which of these guys is available for Naz and a distant first. I would be surprised if the swaps actually conveyed.
Wemby
Shai
Luka
Murray
Ant
Jokic
Kawhi
Maxey
Cade

Harden

Booker
Knueppel

Looking at it that way, made me think of it a little differently. (moved from other thread)

my three cheap targets are Achiuwa, Bagley III and Sochan. Any of those would be nice additions. And I'm in the camp now of wanting to retain DDV. We've done these deals without including him - let's see how his injury repairs and if he can still be part of the team. Donte has hit 418 threes for us in two seasons at a 39% clip. We should think very hard before just moving him to move him.

What are the restrictions on using the Conley created TPE? I think it's around $10 million.

I like both Sochan and Achiuwa in energy, defensive roles from the forward position. We probably could also use a stretch 4 who can hit some 3's as well. Anybody cheap to fill that role?

Using any TPE automatically hard caps you at the first apron.

The top unrestricted free agent stretch 4s in the NBA are Rui Hachimura, Tobias Harris, and John Collins. All three forwards are on the open market, offering teams a blend of physical frontcourt size and reliable three-point shooting. Source: ESPN

Wolves pulled an absolute fleece job on the Hornets.
Ball is going to impact this squad similar to how Conley did the WCF year. High IQ player. Jaden especially will benefit.
Huge W keeping Rudy as well. In this case, I'd much rather have Rudy than Naz.

Rui and Tobias are kind of tweeners. Less interior presence than Naz for sure. He's a bleeping moron, but it's too bad the Pistons traded Isiah Stewart to Memphis. He'd have fit nicely here.

Crowded backcourt and an unbalanced roster, but I’m not getting rid of him just to get rid of him. If he got healthy just before the playoffs, he could give us a boost.
But if he helps us get a playable big, I’m moving him.
