Probably not but he has room to grow into it. And he's at least a borderline all star player
He won't be an all star in the west. If he is, he'd be worth it.
No I wouldn't expect him to be. At the same time, Conley has never made an all-star game and I 100% would have maxed him over these years.
Crazy to believe he has never made one.

I would have ZERO problem with any of this.

Does any team have 3 max contracts under the new rules? GS doesn't as Curry was on the last CBA deal if I recall thus he was way cheaper.

No but there's some with 2 and another like 20 right?

And seriously can anyone really see anything to get Russell other than we move Wigs for the space? I don't. Give away Wigs for nothing and sign Russell with that money and that's a good trade. If you have to pay to dump Wigs then no.

D'Angelo Russell was traded away from the Los Angeles Lakers soon after he exposed Nick Young's cheating ways while he was with Iggy Azalea. He has since matured nicely on the Brooklyn Nets,

I know this is off main topic, but I really hate reading about Russell was the one that needed to mature. I understand the narrative about snitching, but Nick Young is the actual bad guy here and he's the one that really needs to be maturing. Every time a story is written like this, it just lets Nick off the hook for what he did, which is just sad.

I REALLY don't want to deal OK. We need to keep players like him as bench players and under cost control for a few years.

Personally not real interested in Russell, but then again, only watched him play once in two years. So......
If he can take KAT to another level, then I'm all in.

Russell is good. If you can work out deals where you essentially trade Wigs for him then cool. Want no part of moving Okogie and another piece. Okogie is going to be the next Jimmy Butler not Culver. Well, let's hope it's Culver too.

just playing devil's advocate here, but we would still have Culver, Nowell, Reynolds as wings all on cheap rookie deals plus having Cov on his great veteran contract, so we would still have multiple options with good team control.

trading from position of strength.

Young is a prick and he paid for it with the breakup. However, what DLo did was dirty. If another man is telling you about his affairs and you don't agree, either tell him to STFU or leave.
The reason is not just the snitching, it's the WAY he set him up. He ASKED him to go into DETAIL about the affair (for lack of..) as if he was planning to show it to Iggy. He knew what he was doing was WRONG, and violates the "bro code" but it was even dumber to POST it online.

Players don't TRUST a person like that, and especially not one that's in the NBA brotherhood. Swaggy was engaged at the time, and while it was unmoral and dickish, he didn't do anything wrong. Russell deliberately set a man up for his own pleasure, and caused Iggy embarrassment and unneeded pain. He should have let her find out he was a prick on her own. It was really non of his business.
So he should take heat for it. Period.

I can get that too, but you know, don’t brag about cheating on your girlfriend/fiancée then. You’re an idiot for doing it in the first place, and a bigger idiot for bragging about it. Light the asshole up.

I don't even think you'd have to. If we' use the Crabbe trade as precedent...

Teague and Crabbe are a wash
Okogie and this year's #17 are a wash.
Yeah, Atl gets another first but it's lottery protected until 2022 so it's never going to be an elite pick and they had to send out a good player in Taurean Prince plus a 2021 2nd rd pick to the Nets, so I call that a wash too.

Teague and Okogie on their own should work in my opinion.

True, and also immoral, but Iggy should have known he is/was like that. It's well known that NBA players sleep around.
And as I stated, wrong doesn't mean illegal.
If you ever watch the video, you will have more distain for Russell. IMO.

Brooklyn isn't getting the players back in this trade because their cap space is exhausted by the two FA signings. They would be going to the 3rd team, which can just absorb the outgoing MN players into their cap space. The Canis example used the Knicks, presuming they would get shut out in FA.

Since they would need to get to salary floor anyway at this point, they're taking Teague without any long term salary commitment (like Phi did with Redick as a free agent), so they only need very little incentive for it to make sense for them. That's why you could get by with Okogie and not have to give up Culver.

Brooklyn isn't expected to get anything of value in return for Russell since the cap space is what they want, so we don't have to actually match on the court talent to Russell. We only have to send out enough for an unrelated team to take on Teague for 1 year.
