LOL! Not even close. It has nothing to with the primary. It is shocking that someone who is so far out there can be the candidate for anything.

But, the primary represented a very low turnout by the Democrats and there is no guarantee that he will win the general election. Mamdani was hoisted by a bunch of Manhattan limousine liberals. Minorities actually voted a distinct plurality for Cuomo.

In the general election the results will depend on how Cuomo and Adams split the vote, and what the voters 2nd preference is. If Sliwa dropped out and endorsed Cuomo or Adams then that might make one of Cuomo/Adams the favorite in the general. But that is unlikely to a certain extend, and Sliwa's voters 2nd ranked choice might be the king maker.
