What I've read about the Culver pick is we had Garland and Culver on the same tier, and we has 5 guys we liked including the obvious top 3. Hunter going 4 pushed 2 of the guys we wanted down. Cleveland wanted too much to move to 5.
Getting to 6 was fairly cheap. After the pick we took a bunch of calls and we turned them all down. We weren't making the calls.
So you don’t think the Wolves made any calls....none to Cleveland.....or returned any call from Teams lower than them in the draft to see if they could fleece them.
C’Mon Man!
I would honestly think less of Rosas if he hadn’t, but have no doubt he did.
To fill in blanks the Twitter rumor was talks involved J.R. Smith and a future pick of ours. I can't remember the rest verbatim. It was also out there we were talking to other teams.

Yep. We looked at trading up to 4 or 5 but the price was too steep in giving up Cov. We weren't doing that so we ended up getting to 6 knowing Garland could/would be gone as the mocks stated as much. There is nothing out there stating we were looking to trade Culver after we drafted him.

BS. I went through the thread he told me to look through and it wasn't there. So what now?

I must have missed this news. Where can I find it?
It’s out there and been posted here, go check the draft night thread as well. Woj also tweeted.
We went through the same exact shit when Thibbs took Dunn as trade bait and so many here refused to believe it even though the exact same info leaked.
Go look for it, or choose not to.
Just looking for a link. Must have missed it.
Post the link.
I didn’t see anything that definitively said we tried to trade the pick.
Listening to offers doesn’t mean you’re trying to trade the pick.

I'd rather pass on Russell, since next years draft should be pretty decent for PGs. And wouldn't want to give him a max
This type of thinking has gotten us one playoff appearance in 15 years.
If you do not try to make a bold move KAT is gone... That is a fact. He will pull the same move as Anthony Davis in 2 years.
Exactly, just look at fucking Toronto no lottery picks at all.

However, Toronto had possibly the best player in basketball leading them. I understand the need for a bold move to keep Towns, but the only way the Wolves will ever have a chance to win a championship is with two top 10 players. Right now they have zero. Towns may end up being one, but he's not there yet. The only way they get a superstar, top ten player is through the draft, or a trade on a loaner deal.

Yup. that makes you right...sigh. Stop being a tool, after the pick we entertained offers. It was reported, probably posted in the draft thread and most of us were waiting for confirmation we were keeping him, which took a long time. The speculation was aided by these rumors (tweets) between froobs and media alike. You are wrong, live with it, sorry. I shouldn't have to police you on this.

The following day:
The Pelicans were looking for Robert Covington and 11 for 4, Solomon Hill (who has an expiring contract for $12.8 million) and possibly a second-round pick. The Cavaliers were asking for a significant haul for 5 as well, so the Wolves moved on to the Suns at 6.
The Wolves took several calls from teams exploring the idea of trading up to 6 to see if any of the teams would make them an offer they couldn’t refuse. In the end, no offers came close to what they think they are getting in Culver, who led the Red Raiders to the national championship game at U.S. Bank Stadium in April.
Teams were trying to jump up to 6. We took the calls. None of them were worthy. In no way does any of this point to Rosas "desperately trying to trade Culver".

Pretty sure they were just trying to soak Chicago the same way Cleveland was trying to soak them to move up one spot for their guy. The problem is nobody wanted to get stuck with White except Chicago. There wasn't enough leverage for Cleveland or Minnesota to gain anything for that one extra bump up.

Someone asks for proof of that happening and gets the "I'm not going to show you. Find it yourself."

Where do I say desperately trying to trade him......???
He drafted Culver and tried to use him to get Garland, it didn’t happen and they can keep Culver and be happy.
The same people that don’t think they tried to do anything are the same people that think Rosas saying Covington is better a 4 for them than Saric.
I hope Rosas does well in FA in the next day or two. If we walk out of this without a PG or PF, I am sure the same people will be right there to swallow whatever positive spin article the Wolves pump out the next day.
