it's bad in the sense you're subsidizing non-catastrophic care and you're also underwriting people who either have poor genetics (i.e. prone to need more catastrophic care than average) and/or make poor "life choices" vis a vis their health/diet (i.e. most people on this board).
To the extent you don't mind any of that and/or see it as a your "duty" as "citizen" to support your fellow man/woman (no matter how much of a stupid, fuck up fat slob he/she may be), then OC is fine.
I, for one, am a fan. That said, don't kid yourself. Insurance stocks have gone through the roof since OC was enacted for a reason.
