Any fans of the cult classic series "The Guild"?
Its returning, on the big screen. Supposedly Felicia Day was approached by someone in Hollywood to turn her series into a movie for the 20th anniversary...and she loved the idea, until she got into conversations and realized they wanted to replace all the original members with younger gamers to appeal to the younger gaming community....she said fuck that and put together a fan funded collection to produce the movie. She had the goal of raising $2mill which she got b the 2nd day. Last day of fund raising today, and she is close to $7mill now. Sounds like all the original main cast is in, including Will Wheaton.
should be a good time.
For those unfamiliar with The Guild, its the creation of Felicia Day of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Came out in 2006. It was inspired by her addiction to WoW. Released on youtube during its toddler phase of development. 5-7 minute episodes following her fictional guild where they start crossing their virtual lives with their real lives. The cast is mostly a bunch of stand up comedians that were local to her (nobody you've ever heard of), they were all essentially working for free and just filming off their web cams until about after the 2nd season.
