A blind, deaf, or mute person could do the job of US Senator. No reason to think Fetterman couldn’t do the job much better than a quack TV doctor.

Yeah, he’s doing great. Can’t imagine that would affect his ability to do the job.
Stephen Hawking could only communicate via computer and he would have been a far-superior Senator than the quack nutball running.
Do you think being able to process what you read and hear is important to being a governor?
Not quite the same thing as “speaking or even hearing”, but you seem to have difficulty with the “processing” part also, so you probably can’t even understand the difference.

Let's see if you an read and process all of that.Experts in stroke and speech, though, stressed that issues with language skills following a stroke are often separate from any potential impact on someone’s cognitive abilities.
Troubles with language “may affect how people perceive a person’s intelligence, but in many instances, the way a person sounds is not indicative of what their cognitive capability is,” said Adena Dacy, a speech language pathologist and the associate director of health care services at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. “Even if someone is having trouble retrieving words or names, a person’s intelligence can still be intact.”
It’s fair for people to ask whether someone can work in a role as demanding as a U.S. senator after he has a stroke, said Borna Bonakdarpour, an associate professor of neurology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. But Bonakdarpour said he didn’t think language issues should be the barrier that precludes that, noting that a third to half of people who have strokes have language problems.
“I don’t think intellectually he has any issues,” Bonakdarpour said. “That’s a very important distinction.”
“Fetterman may not be good at delivering a speech” for now and might need to find alternate ways to communicate more effectively, Bonakdarpour said. “The question is, how will the public accept that?”
The experts STAT spoke with noted they were not Fetterman’s clinicians and were either talking generally or relying on what has been reported publicly about his condition. Some have pointed to the fact that Fetterman is back to campaigning — with rallies and fundraisers — and that he can read, understand, and respond to debate and interview questions that way as indications of his apparent cognitive function.
Alexandre Carter, a neurorehabilitation expert at Washington University in St. Louis, said that 50 years ago, the thinking was that someone couldn’t really recover after a stroke. But both because of better acute care and rehabilitation improvements, significant advances have been made. Other parts of the brain can compensate for the area that’s damaged during a stroke by making new connections or taking on new roles, and it’s possible that the brain can generate new neurons to restore some functions after an injury (though experts debate whether that is occurring or contributing to recovery).

Yes, understanding verbal and written language is important to the job. He’ll have adaptations to help him in that regard. Again, he does not have cognitive impairment.

If he isn’t fit to debate and answer to the voters he should withdraw and get therapy to recover. And if he is not able to campaign and prove he is fit for the job the Democrats should have him step down and they should put a candidate in there who is.Bull wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 7:49 amStroke victims are stupid fuckers…..PurpleFloyd wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 6:44 pmYou can tell how badly she doesn’t want to answer those questions.
So I don’t really know anything about this Fetterman. Is he seriously the lieutenant governor or some shit like that?
Edit-
Holy fuck! I looked it up and he is seriously the lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. Good god man- this is the state that turned the tide in the civil war and defeated the confederacy ( of course it wouldn’t have happened if the Minnesota troops weren’t there to save the day and the Union). But still- holy fuck. The Democrats really have some stupid fuckers in high ranking positions

My best friend's dad growing up had a stroke. He didn't lose an ounce of cognitive ability, but it really affected his ability to speak clearly and at a normal pace. You could tell he was frustrated because communication became tough for him. It got better over time, but it never got back to where it was before the stroke. He could still write just like before; no problem. But the part of his brain that converted thoughts into speech was damaged.
Now, if you want to argue that communication skills are crucial to being a politician, then I think there's reason to question Fetterman. But I don't think communication skills are as important as cognitive ability, integrity, and values. Of which he is >>>>>>> Dr. Oz.
