I heard that, and it gets me excited. Rosas telling people the Wolves have a path to DAR.

KAT/RoCo/Butter Burger/DAR is a nice start to a starting lineup with Obi Wan off the bench.

Can't see Wiggins going to the bench, no matter how much he deserves it right now. As much as I love the idea of a switching/positionless team, I want a bigger wing as the 5th starter. Can't see Okogie starting anytime soon.

I didn't think it was possible that Rosas could pull something like this off, assuming it isn't smoke and mirrors. Kinda make's it sound like Rosas has something lined up already and ready to go.

We really need Brooklyn to sign Kyrie Irving and renounce Russell. There's been some rumors lately that the Nets might not sign Kyrie if another star isn't coming with him.
If they renounce Russell that doesn't help us it probably hurts our chances. We need a S&T to match salaries. We don't have cap space to sign Russell outright unless we traded Wiggins and Dieng or Teague and Wiggins or combination of two. Which is probably not happening unless you attach many picks plus Covington and Okogie.

I’ve spent time looking at team cap numbers and contracts and I can’t find a match to dump Wiggy unless GM suffers major brain damage...Teague will cost a protected first to dump and Dieng is virtually untraceable until next offseason

He must have dialogue with multiple teams on multiple deal options.

But cant pull the trigger until trade A works with trade B into possibly trade C.

FA is going to be crazy this year. But money is going to go fast. Tampering has been well underway.

You're underestimating how hard or brutal(meaning you take back toxic assets from other teams) it will be to trade him.

I don't see how they can make this happen without getting rid of Wiggins. The Nets are definitely not taking him in a trade as they are trying to get another star to go along with Kyrie.

Rosas is going to have to get real creative here.

If he pulls off DAR without giving up KAT, RoCo, Culver, Okogie, or excessive future assets he's a gotdam wizard. Not saying I wouldn't part with some form of the above to get it done.

It's all based off Durant....if they know he's coming, renouncing Dlo means nothing in terms of negative or positive.

If they renounce his rights and he becomes an unrestricted free agent, where is the money coming from to sign him?

We’re at the salary cap ceiling currently ($109M). So, it comes down to two things: a) How much is DLo going to command per year, and b) How will you free up that money to make an offer?

Wiggins ($27M), Teague ($19M), &/or Dieng ($16M) are your options assuming RoCo ($11M) is off the table.

A look at the teams with space to absorb Wiggins, & to me, only SAC stands out - regardless, such a tough deal to make.

Teague alone isn’t going to get you there - therefore, it may become a dump of both Teague & Dieng while taking back some long-term salary (around $10M; assuming DLo will be around $25M per).

I can’t imagine Rosas pulling this off. But let’s say he does.

How good is a team of:

Russell/Okogie/Culver/Covington/Towns/Wiggins/Jones/Bates-Diop + filler?

I say pretty good, but not all that close to title-contending good. 48-50 wins good.

Other teams do stupid things sometimes.. Like take #11 and Saric for #6.

I have hope Wolves can get Russell somehow.

Toronto is going to lose Leonard, they will need something to keep those fans happy. Bringing in Wiggins would help.

Leonard runs to the clippers. Do the raptors have cap space to absorb Wiggins or do we do some kind of sign-and-trade 3-way deal with the Raptors and Nets?

This will be fascinating to see if rosas can pull something off here. I personally just don’t see it unless we’re willing to move Covington. Then maybe.

Let's say the Wolves/Russell thing doesn't happen. What can we reasonable expect from free agency?

Not much. We don’t have cap space. That’s why I’m skeptical of this.

Wiggins isn't going anywhere. He has the second worst contract to only John Wall in the NBA. It isn't happening until maybe 3 years from now. You guys are dreaming.

Isn't just about everyone talking about this saying "I don't see how this happens," or "It would be amazing if Rosas can pull this off," or something like that. I don't think we're "dreaming." I think we're skeptical, but interested. This is our team and it's the off-season. There is reported interest. It's a talker.

Is there a consensus value on what it would take to sign Russell? $29 million ?

Assuming Gasol opts-in & Kawhi bolts, TOR is at the cap (approximately $110M), therefore any deal w/ them means salaries have to match. In other words, even if TOR was interested in Wiggins, a deal w/ them wouldn’t result in any cap relief this summer...

So we Dump Wiggins and get Russell. This doesn’t give the Wolves a quantum leap forward. Get Russell and add him to Towns and Wiggins - then IMO the team might get better.

Like it or not....Wiggins has talent..likely more than anything we would ever get in return for him. Let Saunders see if he can get it out of him on a consistent basis.

If the team was left as is and just added one of the talented picks at 11 that were still on the board, we would be a better team than we are right now after this draft.

I'll play the Dump Salary Game.

1) Trade Covington for future protected FRP. He is an established quality player on a decent contract ($11.3M)
2) Trade Teague with a protected FRP for a salary dump. ($19M).
3) Renounce rights to Tyus Jones (Cap hit/$7.3M).

Total -$37.6 gets Wolves about $30M under cap.
