Don't give me that all star crap, he got in by default in a weak east conference.
What does he bring besides friendship to the team. I really want to know since I haven't seen him play much. His numbers look average to me.
If we had our pick of PGs he's not close to the top of ones I'd ideally pick for us, but we also have to be self aware that it's not often that a player of his caliber shows interest in signing here when we have an actual need, so you have to look at him seriously still...and what he does well does fit with the type of game we would want from a PG.

He's not that expensive from an asset standpoint, we could get him for Teague and Okogie, or less if Russell agrees to take less money. Teague has no value to us, and Okogie is "expendable" with us now being deep at wing.

We should do a trade using Teague's big expiring anyway so if we didn't target Russell (instead looking to next year's deep PG draft) we would most likely be targeting a big. Russell though is better than most of the bigs we could realistically get, and plays a more important position.

Everyone is talking about how deep next year's PG draft is, but it's also pretty deep in post players too so we can still get our post of the future next year in the draft.

So though it might not be the ideal, it does make a lot of sense and it's affordable.

The AS format is for the entire league.....so it's not exactly nothing that he made it. Also, the East has some monster PG's in Kemba and Kyrie. Dlo is only 24.....and his numbers are clearly above average. 21 and 7 isn't average. He's a scoring guard that does share, and that style is a perfect compliment to KAT. Think of it like this.....we needed a scoring PG when we had Rubio. We got Teague, who is a moderately better scorer. Dlo is vastly better scorer than Teague. Is he supposed to be the future? I don't know, but offensively he's the best PG that has ever played under the Wolves jersey. (in his prime, for anyone sneaking Rose into that group).
Okay thanks.
His career numbers are down, but I haven't his 2018 season. Do you know what his shooting % were last year? 3 point etc.

Are his numbers inflated because he was on a fairly bad team, I mean they were barely over 500%. Not trolling, just trying to get the gist of why so many think we need him. I get it he's a decent PG, but I would say Mombury was the best we've had and he left before his prime.

So for his career....he shoots 35 from deep, last season was just a hair under 37. He's not elite, but like my Rubio, to Teague.....moderately, now vastly better than what we have. Shooting wise, scoring in general....he's just so young to call it one year wonder vs his natural progression. Sure, he was the first option on a not great team, but for me, he's naturally trending up. My issue with him is not at all his progression or one hit wonder argument....more so his health. He's played four years, he's missed major time time in two of his seasons.

All said in done, if he's an option....I would roll with him based on age, ability, scheme, and chemistry with our star player. And I think if he puts our jersey on, your Marbury pick might get rethought....by you!

I want to add to this pile with Wiggins because of what I just heard on High Noon. Kyrie wants to be the man on his own team, possibly doesn't even really want KD. So say Philly goes all in and maxes Harris and Jimmy. Say Kawhi, KD, and Klay all stay put. Is it insane that a team like Brooklyn might not want a secondary player like Wiggins to play with Kyrie? Not suggesting that's their plan, but if all those chips fall that way, I don't think it's far fetched.

Yeah....see my post above. If all FA but Kyrie elsewhere besides Brooklyn, then I don't think it's crazy the Brooklyn might be interested assuming there's other assets attached.

On par with the brilliance of Thibbs demanding Simmons in the original discussions with Philly for Butler.

Here's what the "Path" to DLo will be. Please remember where you heard it from first.

This is the anatomy of a Russel deal.

Three team "Swap" as we call it in the biz.

Wolves send out Wiggins to Miami

Heat sends out a couple bad contracts back

Nets send Russell to Minnesota

Wolves send RoCo to Nets

The Wolves might be able to get lucky and send Okogie instead but the Nets will ask for RoCo first imo.

That is the framework of the deal.

Dumping Wiggins to a team with an attached asset is not the same thing is demanding Ben Simmons in a Butler trade. Apples and forklifts. Way to keep it real.

I am not sure I would do what it sounds like Brooklyn is trying to do. I wouldn't choose to pay Kyrie more than Dlo, or even choose Kyrie over Dlo in the first place, regardless of money. Russell killed it last season, the team won 42 games, and they made some noise in the playoffs. Why are in such a hurry to part with him, or make him Plan B?

If we end up with him, and somehow lose Wiggins along the way without blowing our small wad of assets, it will be a Festivus Miracle. Dude can bring the rain. I think Latino Heat sees him as our version of Harden.

Kyrie is still much more likely to get a second star ti come. Even with the baggage, it makes sense.

Are the Nets sending out any salary in this scenario? It's widely known they don't want take on any salary because their plan is to sign Kyrie, KD, and DeAndre Jordan. I don't think they would take RoCo unless they are trading someone.
