Look up this guy named Anthony Davis. And they actually tried to put a team around him every year. The Replacements wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:20 pmRosas has 3 offseasons (including this one) to clear the crap contracts and put together a team that contends for the playoffs. That would be the 2021-22 season. Kat would not be a UFA until 2024.flexbuffchest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:31 pmHuh?The Replacements wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:06 pm
I read someone saying his extension starts next year. So shift it a year. Be competitive in 3 years and KAT will have 3 years left on his contract.
1. Teague - gone this year or next
2. Deing - gone in 2 years or sooner
3. Wiggins - he's the hard one to move. Has to be more attractive to every year his contract shortens.
So 2021-22 season is your push to make the playoffs. If Rosas is that good, he should be able to make it happen.

KAT only is under contract for 5 years.

According to one genius WC poster it's the only way they'll be able to sell tickets coming off an NBA championship.

Re: Wolves in on D'Angelo Russell?
No clue on this or if it was mentioned.
Do we have any clue what the Wolves might have been offering Russell?
My theory is MN was gonna offer a 4/100 and GS said, why would you take less when we can give you 117 and you're not playing for the Wolves. "How dare they offer you that DLO!" He was probably like, "yeah, why would I take less?" "And if you hit the UFA market, who knows what you would get!"
Fear is a great motivator.

Re: Wolves in on D'Angelo Russell?
I suspect that the Wolves were offering plenty of $ to Dlo. I'll guess that Dlo was either enamored by playing for the Warriors w Steph et al or is was concerned that the Wolves couldn't make the necessary moves to clear cap for him. The number of teams able to absorb his new contract was dwindling by the hour.

Yep. He had to trust the Wolves wouldn't leverage his lack of leverage latter. I wonder if GS said, we'll trade you, don't worry.j-one wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 2:33 pm I suspect that the Wolves were offering plenty of $ to Dlo. Well he got more since it was a sign and trade (I think, bigger raises). But I think it was reported everywhere that the Wolves knew they had to give Russell the max.Moses Scurry wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:45 pm No clue on this or if it was mentioned.

Re: Wolves in on D'Angelo Russell?
Golden state was a great team because they drafted great players, developed, and kept them, not because they were savvy swinging free agent deals. They won and built a team that Durant wanted to go to. This is a terrible deal for them, and I'm very confused how they're going to work together. But, they don't need to worry about that for a while with Klay out.

It does seem like the Warriors outsmarted themselves a little bit here, while in the process fucking the Wolves.

This just still doesn't sit right with me. It's said we are his top choice... He is with KAT and our team the day of FA... and then boom hes traded and then we make a deal with that team.
Not to mention, we help that team acquire him and there are already reports that the Warriors dont see him as a long term plan. Why would Russell, who knows are going to try and get salary agree to go to someone who doesnt see him there long term over just waiting for a long term home with his best friend....

Rumors can say whatever they like, when Iguodala was dealt, this meant they viewed Russell as part of a long term plan.Corre Ricky Corre wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 5:59 pm This just still doesn't sit right with me. This should be the question: what contract does Jeff Teague + Shabazz Napier + Graham approximate?

I believe Rosas is posturing in facilitating this trade. Maybe not this summer but a wait and see deal into the season. This for that with that being Dlo and if "this" produces the right #s then we would have a deal....just sayingmlhouse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 6:12 pmRumors can say whatever they like, when Iguodala was dealt, this meant they viewed Russell as part of a long term plan.Corre Ricky Corre wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 5:59 pm This just still doesn't sit right with me.
