I believe Rosas is posturing in facilitating this trade. Maybe not this summer but a wait and see deal into the season. This for that with that being Dlo and if "this" produces the right #s then we would have a deal....just saying
Russell cannot be traded for 3 months.
Correction, he can be traded in the next 5 days
96. When can a team trade a free agent it signs? Do they have to keep him forever?
Generally a team only has to keep a player for three months after signing a contract or December 151 of that season, whichever is later. This does not apply to draft picks, who can be traded 30 days after signing (even if signed using cap room in a later season -- see question number 49). For sign-and-trade transactions, the initial trade which completes the sign-and-trade obviously is allowed, even though it occurs right after the player is signed. The trade restriction in a sign-and-trade applies to the first subsequent trade.

Johnny K reiterates the Wolves had everything lined up and were just waiting for DLO to give them the green light.
If KAT can't get his bf here then there is no hope
Its not just about what Kat wants, Dlo must also want the same thing. Apparently he'd rather fly a helicopter over the beaches of LA than see Harriet Island.
So let me get this straight. The Wolves lost Russell to the Warriors. To help the Warriors facilitate this deal, the Wolves took on some of their garbage and cash (classic Glen), without getting rid of any of their own garbage? Is that about it?
No. The Wolves got two non-guaranteed deals that could be valuable in a separate trade later this summer. Or they could jettison Tyus and roll with Napier as their backup PG. That's a pretty good deal in a nutshell. And if the Wolves didn't step in to facilitate the deal, another team quickly would have.

The Warriors did not need the Wolves help in facilitating the deal. With the sign and trade they did not need to worry about cap space and the players coming back from the Nets had non-guaranteed contracts they could dump.
So ultimately the Wolves were Russell's fall back plan. I don't blame Rosas for not getting him. I think the relationship between Russell and Towns was a little overblown.

Bingo
All that stuff is BS
the reports out of Phoenix was Devin Booker was his best friend, reports out of Philadelphia was Ben Simmons was his best friend... LoLololo
The Wolves had everything lined up to get Russell.
Russell had some interest coming here.
Russell picked the Warriors over the Wolves.
Marc Stein is saying the Warriors are going to trade Russell eventually.
If all that's true why pick Golden State? I'm just confused. I'd love to know the gap in knowledge between those lines.

Are we sure Russell had any interest in coming here? That could have been some b******* leaked by somebody in the Wolves organization?

Why would we be his first meeting?
Was there an actual face-to-face meeting? I wasn't aware of that?

A year playing for the Warriors slotted next to Curry full-time is hard to pass up.
According to the Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin, Suns star Devin Booker actively campaigned for the Suns to sign Russell, who is reportedly a good friend of Booker’s.
The Suns apparently believed Russell “wouldn’t have been a good influence on Booker off the court,” causing the team to pass on the guard.
It’s worth noting that Russell isn’t even a year older than Booker, but age probably isn’t even what we’re talking about here. Russell’s tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers seemed to leave plenty of bridges burnt due to his behavior.
Of course, Russell has since evolved into a leader of a playoff team, though he did get caught with some marijuana at an airport just two months ago (if the Suns don’t want a player who smokes weed though, their player pool just got a lot smaller going forward). Even Magic Johnson said Russell had matured enough to return to the Lakers.

Warriors paid two first round picks to get Dlo.
If we could sign him outright, that would of been great. Two first are a bit rich for the Wolves.
I doubt that was the difference.
A chance to get a young pg that is supposedly super close with your superstar is worth that cost.
Push come to shove; would I be okay with the wolves moving two 1st round picks for Dlo. Yes but in the end, he chose the Warriors over us too so cant be too mad.

I have no doubt that DLo is a dope and can cause a disturbance.

But again, Marc Stein is claiming that the Warriors will trade him at some point. So why pick a place that you know will trade you?
