They have 3 days before it's official. Not happening. Move on.
Just sayin' you said he "CAN NOT BE TRADED UNTIL DECEMBER 15th". Didn't say whether it was happening or not. You are wrong. At least admit that.

They're finalised on the 6th, just handshake agreements at this stage. DeAndre Jordan backed out of an agreed deal with the Mavs a few year back if I'm not mistaken, so it happens, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Generally a team only has to keep a player for three months after signing a contract or December 151 of that season, whichever is later. This does not apply to draft picks, who can be traded 30 days after signing (even if signed using cap room in a later season -- see question number 49). For sign-and-trade transactions, the initial trade which completes the sign-and-trade obviously is allowed, even though it occurs right after the player is signed. The trade restriction in a sign-and-trade applies to the first subsequent trade.

I don’t mind Doogie unlike someg on WC(which is fine) but that comment reeks of what you stated.

Doogie is great at giving you yesterday's news tomorrow, but I could see how this fits what we know.

Wolves find out they don't have a sucker to take their salary dump, DLo says "if you don't have an alternative to clear space I'm taking the Warriors deal because there's a deadline and i dont want be stuck with the fucking Knicks."
We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.

I think it's also likely they thought they had those trades lined up but then those teams either used their cap space for better or said, "actually we're going to need more".

Neither do I. It is more a passing of the buck, not to place blame on the player, being at this point they cannot even talk about him anyways.

I check the board to see if there's anything relevant. Nothing but whining going on. You would think Russell was one of the top 25 players based on the anger. Not getting Russell may be a blessing in disguise.

I'm now done. Continue the ..............

I don't think you understand what is going on. Unless you believe that Russell and Durant will not sign on 7/6, everything you are stating is meaningless dribble.

Buddy boy I think your statements are pure projection. You are making up stuff like "has the sign and trade been signed". Doesnt matter. Unless you think it will not be signed between Brooklyn and GSW, then it really doesn't change much. In the 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% chance the Nets and Warriors complete the trade, Russell cannot be traded until 12.15.2019. Period. End of story.

This is the exact language in the CBA:

(ii) No player who signs a Contract as a Free Agent (or who
signs a Standard NBA Contract while under a Two-Way
Contract) may be traded before the later of (A) three (3)
months following the date on which such Contract was
signed or (B) the December 15 of the Salary Cap Year in
which such Contract was signed; provided, that if a
Contract is signed in connection with an agreement to
trade the Contract in accordance with Section 8(e) below,
the foregoing rule shall not apply to the initial trade but
shall instead be applicable if the Contract is traded a second
time. For the purposes of this rule, a Two-Way Contract
that is converted to a Standard NBA Contract pursuant to
such Contract’s Standard NBA Contract Conversion
Option will be deemed to be signed at the date of the
conversion.

I think the thought process is that Russell wanted to sign here, but got tired of waiting for us to free up the space, so he took GS’ max offer just to ensure that he could guarantee his funds since other deals were moving fast.
Russell hasn’t really gone out of his way to talk about how excited he is to be headed to GS, and the pundits seem to still be on the angle that Russell is not long for GS.

So if the deal is able to be amended (the big if that nobody can seem to confirm is possible or not) then the thought COULD be that Russell gets rerouted here and we would send acceptable compensation to GS. So our question with if something could happen before the 6th is not about Russell backing out entirely but instead just about amending our two ends of it.

It’s a reasonable question.
